For a very long time, for each vintage, the Château Franc Patarabet wine matures in new oak barrels the best lots of the vintage. These originate from the vineyard to be the oldest (1937, 1958, ...). During the assembly process before bottling, these lots were the Frankish Castle Patarabet Cuvée Vieilles Vignes.
To make more manifest the continuity of the family property, we decided to rename the Vintage Old Vine Cuvée Leopold as a tribute to our grandfather Leopold Barraud that was in the Guide Feret 1908 on the wines of Saint-Emilion. Feel free to read this article with our ancestors who built the castle Franc Patarabet.
We also wanted to give a note of modern and the label of the Frankish Castle Patarabet Vintage Leopold that you can discover in this article. This vintage change of name and label, but keeps the same quality.
